Headford
- Located about 20 miles north if Galway on the road to Ballinrobe ( Co Mayo) about two miles east of Lough Corrib and is one of the most popular angling centres in his part of Galway. Headford is only a mile from the County Mayo border and part of this border is the Black River, another popular fishing spot in the locality. Lough Corrib has a pier in Greenfield about 4 miles west of the town, an ideal place to moor fishing boats.

Kylemore Abbey
- Kylemore Abbey is the only Irish home of the Benedictine Nuns.
